My mother in law has a lime tree that can only be described as an overachiever. The happy result of this is that I receive buckets full of limes. When I found out that I was going to Lorraine's launch I wanted to take a gift (it's a country thing to never turn up empty handed). I would have loved to take something kitschy like a tyre swan but it was too large for the overhead locker. Instead I took some limes and eggs from my girls and made lime butter.
What to do with the surplus? Today I made adult butterfly cakes to take to book group. Not x-rated, just quite grown up with the lime butter and cream.

When life gives you limes
Not quite nigella!
Things have been quiet on the blog front lately. Not because life is quiet (no chance) but in fact very busy. Mostly keeping up with my boys (the chooks are the only thing stopping me being outnumbered) but also doing super
glam things like flying to Sydney for book launches. Not just any launch either. I was lucky enough to get invited to Lorraine from NQN 's launch. I left all the boys (even Sam) for one night and had the most fabulous time. Beautiful spot, gorgeous people and the most delectable food. I'm still dreaming about the dumplings. Such an honour to be invited and so much fun on my first night of freedom for a long time.

Off to school
Jack has been counting down the days till school starts since at least September last year. And so have we. We love him to bits but sometimes he drives us bonkers. Apparently this is called school readiness. It's all been going terribly well except for his need to drape himself across chaises and succumb to his ennui. Fair enough. We just have to hang in there till he becomes accustomed to it all.
One merit certificate already and a sticker for listening. S thought that might be for not listening the least!
